“A Real Revival”

“A Real Revival”

The word “revival” is once again being heard in various areas around this nation and also around the world. Many people have heard about “revivals”, but not many actually know or understand what a real revival actually is. The Webster’s Dictionary gives us their definition of the word “revival”, but first we must understand the word “revival” comes from the word “revive”. Revive means to come or bring back to life; to come or bring back to a healthy, vigorous, or flourishing condition after a decline; to make valid, effective or operative again. Now, the word “revival” means a bringing or coming back into use, attention, or being, after a decline. It is a stirring up of religious faith by fervent evangelistic preaching at public meetings. Such a meeting or series of meetings include public confessions of sins and professions of renewed faith. That was Webster’s definition of “revival”, but they failed to mention the supernatural signs and wonders that accompany “revivals”. Miracles of healings, miracles of deliverance from demonic powers and the miracles of salvation. Real revival is more, much more than good preaching and good singing! It is the manifestation of the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit. It is the demonstration of God’s Power right here on earth! Real revival cannot be conjured up, orchestrated or choreographed by man! Real revivals come in God’s timing, at God’s chosen location and happens according to God’s orchestration, God’s organization and God’s coordination. He is and must be in total control of real revival! We are now hearing of revival breaking out at Asbury University in Kentucky and other universities around this nation. Reports say that people are getting saved, healed and delivered with accompanying supernatural signs and wonders! What a wonderful experience! Think about it, revivals have been happening for a very long time. They happen and last for a while and then they’re gone! Why? Why did the revival stop? Will these current day revivals also stop, if so, then why? Do all revivals have an expiration date? Surely not! What could cause a God ordained revival to fizzle out over a period of time? I’ve asked myself and God that question for a long time! Now I prophetically believe that the answer to that question comes in the form of a prophetic warning! Consider this from The Word – Exodus 20:25 says “And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone, for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it.” Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Romans 8:6-8 says, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind (or the fleshly mind) is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” So, could it be possible for so called Christian people who are carnally minded or fleshly minded to infiltrate a revival and begin to regulate, orchestrate, and take over the direction of the revival to establish their agenda rather than God’s agenda? Could this possibly be the reason many revivals have been aborted or killed? There’s the prophetic warning! Pray for revival purity! Keep the carnal or fleshly minds out and keep the money hungry Christian celebrities out and let God’s Agenda and God’s Will be done so that He and we can experience “A Real Revival”!
