The five main ministries that God has given to the church are the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor and the teacher.
When Jesus was here on earth, He set the example for all ministry to follow. He was the fountain head or initial source of all ministry (Matthew 20:26-28). He was the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher, Intercessor, Deacon, Elder, Exhorter, Edifier and Giver all wrapped into one. He had the fulness of all ministries.
When Jesus ascended, He made it possible for His ministry to reach the four corners of the earth by sending the Holy Spirit and filling His disciples with “power” (Acts 2:1-4). He broke down His fulness of ministry into smaller measures and gave a measure to this one and a measure to that one until the whole was invested. He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors, some teachers, some elders, some deacons, some givers, etc.
Join us Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. as we dive deep into each of the five-fold ministries. Where do you fit in?
