“The Friend of God’

“The Friend of God’

By now every Christian should realize that we are living in the last of the last days. The Apostle Paul prophetically described “our day” and he called it “perilous times” in 2 Timothy 3:1-7 (please read). Jesus described “our day” by saying it will be “like the days of Noah” in Matthew 24:37 (please read). Moses described the days of Noah in Genesis 6:1-12 (please read). Did Jesus, Moses and Paul get it all wrong? I think not! Look at what we’ve been seeing on the television news channels for the last twenty years, especially the last two years! Our nation, the one we grew up in, is daily being destroyed right before our eyes! We now live in super perilous times which will absolutely require us to trust God in every circumstance and situation every day of our lives! There will certainly be times where we will have to stand against the darkness of this world, but always remember that as we walk in faith we are never alone in the battles against our enemies. Moses gave Joshua, before Joshua and the children of Israel crossed the Jordan River to conquer the land of Canaan, a tremendous instructive word of encouragement in Deuteronomy 31:8 (please read). Sounds like good advice for us today! Not only is the Lord with us, He has gone before us to prepare our way! Proverbs 18:24 (please read), speaks of “a friend” to God the word friend is a Covenant Word and that “Friend” is Jesus! James 2:23 (please read). Thank God Jesus is our “Friend” and “Covenant Friend”! Never forget, we’re not in these daily battles alone! Isaiah 43:1-7 (please read). Yes, we may have to walk through fire or flood, but we will never walk it alone! The Apostle Paul records that we have “the assurance” that we are not walking alone nor are we walking in our own strength or power in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (please read). Think about it, we have a Father and a Friend that leads us every step of the way, everyday! Proverbs 3:5-6 (please read), as we trust in the Lord with all our heart, not trying to figure everything out, and follow Him by faith, He will direct and protect our steps through these super perilous times because He loves us and we are His Friends! Praise the Lord!

Forever Following Jesus,

Gary Pittman, Sr. Pastor
